Love is like an animal, our feet against the dirt. Our feral eyes, are not surprised by what we tried to hurt. Our yellow teeth, the grit and spit I tried to hold your hand.

But then you bit me hard. You broke the skin on my heart. We were just kids having fun, behind cars, sneaking into the bars. Wait long and it falls apart. You broke the skin on your heart. The days were long and we were dumb like animals.

Young love is like an animal, instinctual and proud. Our boundary lines were crossed that’s fine it's nicer when it’s loud. Our hissing lips and furrowed brows, I howl as you walk by.
