Blue Skies
04:04
|
|
||
There you were
he thought you were pretend
he saw you in the end
Grey grass
and blue skies never end
and yet he still pretends
That we are not afraid of everything we do
he broke his leg now he can’t work his kids are starving too
There has to be a change
there has to be a change
there has to be a change coming today
There has to be a change
there has to be a change
there has to be a change coming today
You're running from your life
there’s no reason to stay
there has to be a change coming today
There has to be a change
we know that you are so afraid
Sterile floors
your family held your hand
he saw you in the end
Glassy eyes
drift around the bend
there’s nothing here but
Cold and darkness, quiet and breathless great finality
you found a light and ran for days on blistered broken feet
Change has come and all is done and you were one man at the ending
everyone around you spoke of change
No more drinking, no more fighting, waste days on boring TV
Daytime lectures, business ventures, sell your car and buy some uppers
Now you’re down, it’s goodbye for now
yes you’re down

Culture Vulture
02:50

|

Those buildings breaking through the sky saw them swaying in the wind. You're standing by the window. High up, above the working men. Powerful and terrible, you’re terrible. You’re hard and cold, so hard and cold.
Where’s your culture, Mr. Vulture? Scavenge their hopes and broken dreams
Scavenge all that they’ve ever been. Where’s your culture, Mr. Vulture? You broke them down, you broke them down. You broke them into the ground.
Those yes men working everyday. They shine your shoes and kiss your face. The devotee, auxiliary. Their hands, worked to useless stubs. They’re staying late and passing out, breaking down. They can’t get out, they can’t get out
Where’s your culture, Mr. Vulture? Scavenge their hopes and broken dreams
Scavenge all that they’ve ever been. Where’s your culture, Mr. Vulture? You broke them down, you broke them down. You broke them into the ground.

Into The Deep
03:38
|
|

You were wasting time, you were spending hours being crazy. From the shallow water, you saw fish and sharks and pretty ladies. Their eyes were hazy. Their hair was tangled to the roots. You swam off in pursuit. There was nothing left to do.
But fall into the deep end and leave behind all your best friends and drink away all your problems, until there’s nothing at all. Just drift into the deep end, until you’re tired and lonesome. Fall into ecstasy’s strong arms, until there’s nothing at all.
You were cast a line, you were chasing bait with no discretion. There was little time, to catch your breath and find a direction. Just drowning and flailing, you went and traded in your shoes. For hole filled rubber boots what else could you even do.
But fall into the deep end and leave behind all your best friends and drink away all your problems, until there’s nothing at all. Just drift into the deep end, until you’re tired and lonesome. Fall into ecstasy’s strong arms, until there’s nothing.
Head first into the deep end and leave behind all your best friends and drink away all your problems, until there’s nothing at all. Just drift into the deep end, until you’re tired and lonesome. Fall into ecstasy’s strong arms, until there’s nothing at all.

Run Faster
04:29
|
|
||
I can see my shadow. It is very simple. Casting
down the things I’ve done. I look at the pavement.
I don’t know how this went wrong. I run
along, so long. From the setting sun. I had nothing
and asked for help, then threw it all away.
Run faster, run run faster. Run faster, run run faster.
Run faster, before I’m out of time. Run faster, run
run faster. Run faster, run run faster. Run faster, before
I’m out of time. Before I have no time.
I am just a shadow a man brought down to zero an
empty shell who’s all for none. Laughing at my ego
the castle is all crumbled down I broke it down, so
long. I lost and now I’m done. The walls left broken,
let ice inside a hard look at my life.
Run faster, run run faster. Run faster, run run faster.
Run faster, making up lost time. Run faster, run
run faster. Run faster, run run faster. To make up
all lost time. Run faster, run run faster. Run faster,
run run faster. To make up for lost time.

Boy Go Home
04:06
|
|
||
You keep your eyes on the street. You keep
on watching your feet. Inside the land of the
free. Where everything is just so clean and
nice like, cold clear water. You breathe in the
fresh air, and then you feel a rumble.
And then the ground it rumbles. The sky is grey
and ice cold. The road it sways and crumbles.
A train it passes by, it leaves you here tonight.
This place that’s void of light. You were a lonely
soul, so irresponsible and bold.
Your mind it floats in the breeze. Your eyes they linger
and freeze. Another heart broken plead. Cause everything
just seemed so clean and nice like, cold clear water.
Just then they drove on by. They didn’t stop at all, they
never heard your cries. I wanna go back home.
Their car it passed you by. You’re left alone tonight.
A home that's out of sight. You’re now a lonely soul,
so irresponsible and alone. Boy go home.

This Road
03:37
|
|||
The road was crumbled our car wouldn’t drive. We pushed and fumbled from coast to coast. We hit the edge and swam the ocean, swam the ocean, swam the ocean ya.
It was nobody's business, nobody's business. It was nobody's business where you'd been. Nobody's business, nobody's business. It was nobody's business where you'd been. Oh ya, don’t change you are built for wandering.
You better go go go, you better hit the road. There are roads untouched and people you don’t know. You better go go go you better hit the road. You have an open mind just follow your heart. You better pack your things for a brand new start. You better go go go you better hit the road.
We lived liked kings and queens on golden sand. We held our glass up for a toast. There was no edge. We passed the ocean, passed the ocean, passed the ocean ya.
There was nothing but canvas, nothing was claimless. There was nothing but darkness in the end. Nobody's business, nobody's business, it was nobody's business where you’d been. Don’t change you are meant for wandering.
You better go go go, you better hit the road. There are roads untouched and people you don’t know. You better go go go you better hit the road. You have an open mind just follow your heart. You better pack your things for a brand new start. You better go go go you better hit the road.

Love is Like an Animal
03:40
|
|
||
Love is like an animal, our feet against the dirt. Our feral eyes, are not surprised by what we tried to hurt. Our yellow teeth, the grit and spit I tried to hold your hand.
But then you bit me hard. You broke the skin on my heart. We were just kids having fun, behind cars, sneaking into the bars. Wait long and it falls apart. You broke the skin on your heart. The days were long and we were dumb like animals.
Young love is like an animal, instinctual and proud. Our boundary lines were crossed that’s fine it's nicer when it’s loud. Our hissing lips and furrowed brows, I howl as you walk by.
But then you bit me hard. You broke the skin on my heart. We were just kids having fun, behind cars, sneaking into the bars. Wait long and it falls apart. You broke the skin on your heart. The days were long and we were dumb like animals.
In three words I can sum up everything I’ve learned about life, it goes on.
But then we bit down hard and ripped the skin off our hearts. We are alive and we go on with life, and make silent goodbyes. We sew it up and restart, with mended skin on our hearts. The days were long and we were dumb, yes these days are long and we are dumb like animals.

Point of View
03:27
|
|
||
You changed your point of view. Everyone was
mean to you, you ran, to try a scenic route. Fighting
through your tears, everyone had made you
fear yourself and what you shouldn’t do. Dark
nights without inhibition crowded and confused.
You left behind your best friends too.
You lay beneath the stars. You hear the distant
passing cars, you smile and laugh into the dark.
Your life was dull and hard but now you’re free
and living large, your smile warms a broken heart.
There’s bright days with no ambition lazy yet in
charge. I knew you’d find a brand new start a brand
new start, a brand new start, a brand new start.

White Collared Babies
03:22
|
|
||
You have seen, we were broken and lazy like white collared babies in nurseries. Your peach coloured doctors with skin smooth that’s softer than, your smile, melts ice from the ice caps which floods all the land mass. We laughed here a while. But nothing was funny no bees for the honey at all.
Falling trees. We had splintered, broke fingers on white heavy timber. It’s the american dream. There was dancing green tender in the hands of the spender. Your smile, brings hard men to mercy and leaves oceans thirsty. You spit and were wild. Like feral wild child you screamed for survival and love.

They are all doctors and lawyers. Straining to be the best.
Neck ties crush windpipes and they can’t resist. Looking
at all the girls breasts. Cocaine and Jack Daniels. Trickle
down their throats. BMW’s and camo.
They scream, don’t bother now, don’t bother now. You
are not quite right. You have no job, you have no kids.
You don’t even drive. You ride a bike, you’re not on
time. You are not quite right. Just buy some gas, give
it a try. You might even like it, you might like it, a lot.
Husbands, housewives and pre-teens. Smile into the great
midwest. Walking on garbage in their Jimmy Choos. Trying
to be the very best. Cocaine and Jack Daniels, it is everywhere
you go. 3Family movie night and camo.
They scream, don’t bother now, don’t bother now. You
are not quite right. You have no job, you have no kids.
You don’t even drive. You ride a bike, you’re not on
time. You are not quite right. Just buy some gas, give
it a try. You might even like it, you might like it, a lot.

Strong
02:35
|
|

Loud, loud accusations. Boring conventions, a life with a family. These doors made of oak I choke on pine and spruce it's heavy, so heavy and boxy. So stagnant I’m tipsy, my comfortable prison. Oh when will these walls fall down? Oh when will these walls fall down?
I want to open, open the blinds and remember a time when I could go out there. Erase all these roles and clothes before this home was broken, I hardly stop hoping. That you will just leave me. I won’t because I’m not strong, I never have never been strong.
Oh what, what of the children? I should keep it hidden. The thought makes me livid. To think that I must hide my thoughts, my dreams, I scream and wallow. Why can't it be simple? There’s rules we all follow. A slave to my own home. It’s never been home at all. It’s never been home at all.
